October Music

The month of October is always exciting with all the hub bub of music and choirs, the changing of the leaves, and the new seasons of the church year.  It’s like I can’t wait to pull my boots out and throw a scarf on!   (BTW:  We’re still in Pentecost, but Reformation Sunday and All Saints Sunday are around the corner.)

The Choirs and Worship Teams are in full force.  They meet to rehearse music, but as a bonus, they are creating community.  Let me give you an example. This past summer, I was summoned at the last moment to go on the Jr High Mission Trip to Kansas City. In that group, every last one of them had been in a choir in some capacity where friendships had been made and maintained.  Guess what?  Those friendships continue to blossom at Confirmation Class and will last a long time.  Thanks, Kelsey Ellis, for letting me be part of that journey!

I leave you this- The joy is yours.  Don’t let anyone take it away from you.  If there is a song that brings you joy, then hum along.  That is your joy to share as you choose!
