Our Habitat home has a roof, siding, windows, and doors! Despite the summer heat, members of the Faithful Builders congregations, some skilled trades, and Jamila (the future homeowner), have been hard at work and things are on schedule. On August 28th we got everything pretty much closed in, the basement is nearly framed, and the porch is taking shape. We were also blessed by a neighbor named Ellen who brought over cake and ice cream for our afternoon break, and another neighbor named Gracie. As a reminder, the home is at 2594 Pratt, and if you haven’t already, please go to tinyurl.com/FaithfulBuilders2021 and sign up to help – you’ll see what work is scheduled (drywall, paint, clean up, etc.). You don't need to have bring particular talents or tools, our crew is very good at teaching basic skills and provide all the tools and materials you’ll need, and you’ll find it’s a ton of fun too! Work begins each morning at 8am with a short orientation and plan for that day, a word about safety, and a word of prayer. There is a breakfast bread, water breaks throughout the day (you might bring your own, but they'll have plenty), and a good lunch. Hope to see you there!
