This year Pastor Heather will be preaching a sermon series throughout Lent based on the Palm Sunday Path - a national, ecumenical effort to proclaim God’s values of feeding the hungry, caring for the sick, and welcoming the stranger in clear contrast to the values of cruelty, greed and exclusion being shouted loudly in our world.  The series will draw from all four Gospels and asks us to consider some of the contrasts the Gospels draw between Jesus’ own embodiment of the Kingdom of God and the systems of this world that are powered by contempt and injustice.

Using the framework of Jesus’ procession into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, the series will focus on the character of Jesus and his vision for transforming the world as we once again take up the age-old questions of our faith - Whom are we following?

For those who are able, at the end of the month there will be an opportunity to participate in an ecumenical Palm Sunday Procession at First United Methodist Church the afternoon of Palm Sunday as together we bear public witness to Christian values of love, care, and compassion.
